ILAO Star is the 4th generation of deformable mirror originally developed for applications in Ultra High Intensity Lasers. Based on a patented actuation technology, ILAO operates using mechanical actuators with astatic floating heads that perform wavefront shaping with nanometric precision, extremely high repeatability and perfect linearity.

ILAO Star provides extremely low residual errors on its full dynamic range and allows performing correction without high spatial frequency phase modulations to prevent damages on downstream optics. ILAO Star is compatible with most available metallic and dielectric coatings and can be optimized/customized to match with integration at 45degree and square beams.

ILAO Star is seamlessly compatible with Waveview, WaveSuite, TANGO and of course HASO wavefront sensor. Its integration in the Laser before or after the compressor allows providing a corrected wavefront before the beam transportation. For the correction of the beam transportation, Imagine Optic has developed PHARAO, a software using the focal spot itself to determine the non-common path aberrations and perform ultimate correction for diffraction limited focusing on target.

The amount of energy, beam diameters and safety standards have largely increased to meet new scientific challenges in inertial confinement fusion, plasma acceleration and particle physics experiments. The level of performance and maintenance features offered by ILAO Star perfectly meets the highest requirements of actual laser installations.
